Supercritical CO2 extraction plants, engineered to your process.
We manufacture and supply supercritical fluid extraction technology end to end — assessing your requirement, defining the technical specification, designing and getting it approved by third-party inspection, fabricating and testing it, then installing and running trials on your floor.
Why extraction with supercritical CO2
A safer, cleaner, purer and faster route to extract than solvent processes — and one that leaves the botanical, and the extract, intact.
Non-flammable
CO2 is non-toxic and non-flammable, so the process avoids the handling and fire risk of hydrocarbon solvents.
No effluent
No effluent generation, no waste stream and nothing to discharge — the solvent is recirculated, not consumed.
No residue
CO2 evaporates without a trace and is chemically inert, so it neither reacts with the extract nor distorts its properties.
Higher efficiency
High fluidity carries the solvent into the smallest pores of the raw material, giving full extraction at higher efficiency.
The principle of CO2 extraction
Liquid CO2 is super-cooled and fed into the pump. Heavy compression heats it and carries it into a supercritical state, where it holds the properties of both a gas and a liquid and is characterised above all by its dissolving capacity.
Its high fluidity lets it penetrate the smallest pores of the raw material and lift out the desired substances. The loaded CO2 is then expanded and heated, turns back into a gas, and evaporates without a trace — leaving nothing but the pure extract.
Extraction conditions for supercritical carbon dioxide sit above the critical temperature of 31 °C and the critical pressure of 74 bar.
Extraction
Super-cooled liquid CO2 is pumped and compressed past its critical point, then passed through the charged extractor vessel where it dissolves the target compounds out of the raw material.
Separation
The loaded fluid is expanded and heated in the separator train. Solvent power collapses, the extract drops out and is collected — fraction by fraction where the process calls for it.
Condensation
The CO2 returns to gas, is condensed back to liquid and re-enters the pump. The loop is closed: the solvent is recovered and reused, not discharged.
Where supercritical extracts are used
Four industries we build plants for, each with its own vessel sizing, pressure envelope and compliance requirement.
Agro & food
Spice oleoresins, seed and botanical oils, decaffeination and flavour concentrates — extracted at low temperature so volatiles survive the process.
Pharmaceuticals
Active plant fractions and API intermediates produced without residual solvent, in a GMP-compliant plant built to documented specification.
Perfume & aroma
Absolutes and aroma fractions that carry the true top notes, because the extract is never exposed to the heat of a distillation.
Cosmetics
Botanical actives and carrier oils for formulation, clean-label by construction — no solvent to declare and none to remove.
From your requirement to a plant running trials
Five stages, each closed out before the next begins, with third-party inspection at both design and fabrication.
Assess needs
We work through your raw material, target yield, throughput and site constraints before anything is drawn.
Define specification
Technical specification fixed in writing — vessel sizes, design pressure, materials, instrumentation and utilities.
Design & TPI approval
Detailed design submitted for third-party inspection approval, so the pressure envelope is certified before fabrication.
Fabricate & test
Manufacture in our own shop, followed by testing and TPI witness of the completed assembly.
Install & trial
Erection and commissioning on your floor, with extraction trials run on your material and your operators trained.
Full extraction, nothing discharged
CO2 is the green solvent: fewer resources consumed, no effluent to treat, and a gentle process that respects both the plant material and the extract drawn from it.
- Environmentally friendly
- No effluent generation, non-polluting
- No waste production
- Non-toxic, non-flammable, safe
- Fewer resources used with a green solvent
- Higher extraction efficiency
- Gentle on the plant and the raw material
- No residue of CO2 in the final product

“Mr. Atikrant Patil’s keen interest and effort in solving the intricate problem with the SCFE unit at IIT Delhi was extremely useful. I have no doubt that it would not have been the success that it was without your presence.”
